I am not one for jumping on the bandwagon but this time I have to make an exception. I have just listened to a recording that is apparently by Susan Boyle. It dates from 1999 and she sings one of my favourite songs "Cry Me a River".

Is your business in recession?
Every time I look at the newspaper or watch the TV I am bombarded with bad news about the economy. Yes, I know things are bad globally, but the more you tell us how bad it is the worse it is going to get.
How is your business going? Have you talked yourself into entering a business recession?
The recession won't hit us all. Some businesses thrive during hard times. Some businesses become the ones we suddenly all run to for comfort or support. Have a close look at what you are doing. Is there anything that you could do better? Is there anything that you offer that might be of more value during these hard times?
If you are still going along reasonably securely then I congratulate you. You are doing something right. Just stay focused on your business and keep going. You haven't let the bad news spreaders infect you with doom and gloom.
Here is a little story that I found at the Business Mums Blog. It is a great example of the way we can allow ourselves to be talked into a negative mindset. Read it and then go away and focus on positive outcomes for your biz.
There was a man who lived by the side of the road and sold hot dogs.
He was hard of hearing so he had no radio.He had trouble with his eyes so he read no newspapers.
But he sold good hot dogs.He put up signs on the highway telling how good they were.
He stood on the side of the road and cried; buy a hot dog, mister?
And people bought.He increased his meat and bun orders.
He bought a bigger stove to take care of his trade.
He finally got his son home from college to help him out.
But then something happened.
His son said, “Father, haven’t you been listening to the radio?”
“Haven’t you been reading the newspapers?”“There’s a big depression.”
“The European situation is terrible. The domestic situation is worse.”
Where upon the father thought, well, my son’s been to college, he reads the papers and he listens to the radio, and he ought to know.
So the father cut down on his meat and bun orders, took down his advertising signs, and no longer bothered to stand out on the highway to sell his hot dogs.
And his hot dog sales fell almost overnight.
“You’re right, son” the father said to the boy.
“We certainly are in the middle of a great depression.”

Clever Art and Illusions
I spotted this work featured in a post at EP Designs Blog. Being a fan of the work of Julian Beaver I just had to share with you.
Isn't it great? Not only is the work so well drawn and realistic, it is done with very clever use of perspective. Illusion and beauty in one piece of art.
What a pity it is so short lived.
