Tagged for Food Porn.

I have been tagged by Amanda from Diary of a Mad Cow for this meme. Sadly, Amanda is married to a chef so she knows what she is talking about when it comes to food. She is also a self-confessed food snob. As for me, well, you shall soon find out.

1. What food do you consider the best “date” food? In other words, what meal or food item do you think is sexiest to eat in the company of someone you would like to look sexy around?

Sexy? Let me look that word up in the dictionary........ Oh, OK. So I am with someone I don't want to slobber in front of (maybe slobber over him later?) I guess that counts out soups and slithering pasta. That kind of dribble really isn't attractive. I am keen on champagne and strawberries with some lovely warm chocolate dipping sauce...... That brings back memories. Chateaubriand cooked to perfection and served with Bearnaise sauce, followed by home made gelati with shards of glass toffee splintered across it, and chocolate dipped strawberries served whenever I raised a finger. Oh the memories. Why don't people realise that food is sex? Who needs other company?

2. What well known person would you like to share a meal with - with or without clothes (stating clothing status is optional)?

Well this is a hard one. Although I have images in my head of the young Harrison Ford and Patrick Swayze, and a lovely one of Keanu Reeves, I think (and I hate to admit it) that my present choice for company would be Gordon Ramsay. But he can keep his clothes on! He is funny and fiery, and passionate about food so I know we would certainly be served a great meal. See? He does have his uses after all.

3. What does your perfect breakfast in bed look like? (Food AND details please. Candles? Music? Flowers? Hot tub? Dancing girls?

I don't do breakfast in bed. I hate sleeping in toast crumbs and squashed banana bits. You come out in the morning looking like an uncooked fritter. What I would like, though, is to be served breakfast at a nice quiet table in the garden (if we had one). I would like no music at all, so that I could hear the birds singing in the background. To eat? I would like some freshly squeezed orange juice and a fresh fruit salad. Then, once the healthy bit is done, I would love some Eggs Benedict to soothe my soul. I cannot start the day without at least 2 mugs of tea and if I could sit in the gentle morning sun with my feet up, watching the start of the day I would be in bliss. Especially if someone else cleans up after me. Of course, all this is just a dream. There is always a barking dog, a sulky cat, three squabbling kids and a great big husbandly presence lurking around me. Could I perhaps be transported to a tropical isle all by myself? That is not too much to ask is it? After all, it is only for breakfast.

4. What do you consider the best application of whipped cream to be?

Oooh. It makes me drool just thinking about it. Large, warm and so satisfying that no girl could walk past it. My grandmothers delectable steamed chocolate pudding with chocolate custard sauce. Sooooo delicious in the most pleasing way. Just top it with oodles of whipped cream and plonk your face right into the bowl. Gran's chocolate custard sauce even gives chocolate fudge sauce a run for its money. Oh now I want some! If you can raise someone from the dead please let me know. No? Drats, I might have to dig out the recipe and cook it myself.

5. Oh-God-No, Biff, the yacht is sinking! You are sent to the galley to retrieve the food. What luxury food items do you snatch first? The champagne? The caviar? Smoked Salmon? Truffles? Chocolate? Or something else?

Grab the champers, Biff! Cork floats. (well I do have to maintain my sensible image)

What else is in the fridge? Fillet steaks? Yes, save them. Caviar? No, let it go back to sea where it belongs. Profiteroles oozing with cream? Little meringues? Save them too. We'll need those for energy. Chocolate? You really needed to ask? Grab them all. Hmm, I wonder if we could be stranded near a good fish and chip shop?

Now to tag 5 others to share their food fantasies.

I am weak in the knees when it comes to pudding and whipped cream. And yes, champagne first, food second...always.

Ooh I so nearly tagged you for this meme. If I had seen some other 'tags' on your blog you would have been in for it!

Thanks for the tag, Anne. I haven't gotten around to doing it yet, but I will. :)
