Celtic Amethyst Necklace.

This is a stunning necklace in the Celtic style featuring 7 lovely amethysts. It is a very ornamental piece, quite outside my usual tastes. What is it that appeals to me? I love the neverending swirls of Celtic design. They are elegant and graceful. Even more I love the stunning amethysts which are the feature of this necklace. There are 7 of them and they are all clear beauties.

The necklace is 45 cm in length and the decorative front panel is around 12cms wide. The area with the amethysts is 5cm wide. It is all in perfect proportion - any larger and the necklace would become gaudy. This is made of sterling silver and the design has been beautifully crafted.

Amethyst are considered to be a protective and somewhat healing stone. For an excellent description of its powers and a short sumary of amethysts in history visit Under The Loupe, a blog by jewellery designer Annette Piper.
This necklace is available from Beauty Banquet (back online soon)
